We just received a few of our out-of-stock saddles

The Brooks importer expects their next shipment in one month.

We have raised the saddle prices today to reflect our higher cost.

Anybody Do Saddle Repair?

October 7th, 2008 by Bill | 10 Comments | Filed in Resources, shop

We get the occasional mail or call from someone who wants to get their saddle repaired. We sell replacement parts for Brooks saddles but we don’t work on them. The only reference I have is Tony Colegrave, in England. It would be nice to have a resource in America.

Does anyone in the US do this kind of work? Would any of you like to do this type of work. You could perform a service to the Brooks community and make a little money.

What Would the Bike of AD 2000 Look Like

FOUND – Part One
Y2K saddle
In 1954 Britain’s “Cycling Weekly” magazine asked their readers what they thought the bicycle would look like in the year 2000. We posted part two of this article about a year ago and many of you found it pretty interesting. Now we have the missing part one, thanks to Tony Colegrave.

Some of the predictors had a pretty accurate crystal ball; “Mass produced frames will be electrically welded but craftsman-specialists will still build bicycles. . . .by hand, to the requirements of the conniseur.” Some missed the mark pretty wide; Bicycles “will be built on the stretched-skin aircraft principal. . .opening as a spectacle case does”

Here are links to PDFs of both parts of this old article:

PDF Part 2 -Bike of Year 2000 – from March 25, 1954
