Blogger Woollypig has posted text, photo and video from his recent tour of the Brooks factory. The short videos are quite nice in the way they illustrate the old industrial process and the way the craftsperson is involved.
UPDATE 3/2/10: Wired Magazine has picked up on Woollypig’s blog and featured it in their Gadget Lab blog.

Update 2/18/10: The parades are over and the shirts have gone into storage to wait for next year. Come to Mardi Gras in 2011!

Soma has a bar tape that is a pretty close match to Brooks honey leather. They call it ‘brown’, we call it ‘almost honey’. It is hard for us to find though. After months of looking we found ten rolls at one of our suppliers. At $13 it is a pretty good deal. We have it listed on our ‘components‘ page. When these ten rolls are gone I am not sure when we can get more.
