How one rider is modifying his B.17 Standard for a sleeker look.
Dave Hellner did a nice job modifying his Brooks B.17 Champion Special.
He cut and laced the skirts. The grommets are a nice touch.
This is from the Facebook Brooks Saddle group.
Philadelphia framebuilder Simon Firth has traveled to Birmingham to learn the arts of saddle making and saddle repair. Simon is now the Brooks factory-authorized saddle repair agent for America. Simon has access to parts that most U.S. dealers don’t, and he knows his way around a rivet.

NEW PRODUCTS FROM BROOKS
September brings us Interbike and Eurobike, the biggest industry shows and the showcases for new goodies.
Brooks is going to show off a new set of panniers and a chic cycling jacket.
The Land’s End rear pannier is paired with the John ‘O Groats front pannier for a serious touring set. They are said to be “waterproof, light, and durable” “without sacrificing style.” Look for them sometime next year.
The Criterion jacket is “truly the finest jacket ever created for cycling.” Made with Ventile cotton and a tweed lining, the jacket is listed at 1000€.
STYLE CONNECTION
Additionally, Brooks is announcing a collaberation with PEdALED (please allow me this one bitch about companies that sacrafice typography to design). Japanese firm PEdALED shows a line of workie/bikie gear that is hitting a new niche, I think.
I’m not sure how this collaberation will play out on the shelves here at wallbike.com. Time will tell.
The folks at Selle Royal are working hard to bring exciting products to the Brooks brand. It all may not be for everyone but it is interesting.
